Glenrothes 1 Spurs 1 (Thomson )

In a close game at a sunny Riverside park in Glenrothes, spurs battled out a one all draw in this friendly match. Spurs had an early scare in the first period when spurs captain, James Gay won the ball in his own penalty box, but the ref blew for a foul & pointed to the spot. Ross Thaw dived low to his right to make an excellent save from the penalty. The game was even with very few chances for either team. Spurs broke the deadlock in the second period, Marcus Caseman who was making some strong challenges in midfield won the ball & found Ross Forgan, who's attempt at goal took a deflection of a Glen's player before falling to Shaun Thomson, who ran through to net in the corner. The Glenrothes keeper had to be alert to collect a dangerous cross from Ged Rutherford, at the other end Ross Thaw was quick out his box to cut out several dangerous through balls. Fraser Herd was unlucky not to score when his header from a corner was just wide of goal. Spurs defence stayed strong with James Gay especially controlled & assured, clearing up any danger. Glen's did however find an equaliser in the third period, a slack pass from defence let in a Glen's striker, who managed to slip several challenges before lofting his shot high over Thaw in to the net.
