Spurs crashed out of the Scottish cup at the second round stage to Dunfermlines elgin star 94. Spurs had to re-shuffle the team after the defensive partnership of Guthrie & Gay were ruled out through injury. Spurs started well enough carving out several good scoring opportunities which they could not take. Elgins first real attack ended with them taking the lead, followed by a second minutes later, shortly before half time they looked to have made the game safe with a third goal. Spurs tried to make a game of it & pulled a goal back through Mcintosh after a corner. Elgin responded by grabbing their fourth goal almost straight from the re start. Spurs rallied & reduced the lead after Murray netted, Rutherford then grabbed a goal to give spurs hope of a comeback, but Elgin went on to score two more in the latter stages of the game to put them in the next round.
