Spurs 1 (Murray) Cairneyhill 5

A disappointing result against a physical Cairnyhill side, with the spurs not playing too their full potential, but with the match being much closer than the scoreline suggests. Spurs got of to the worst possible start, conceding a goal in the first minute, a ball in the spurs box was not cleared & was forced over the line. Spurs created very little chances in the first period, with too many misplaced passes & dwelling too long on the ball. Cairnyhill made it two from the spot after Thaw fouled in the box. Spurs pulled a goal back through Murray who did well to control a pass before shooting past the keeper. Cairneyhill added a third with Barclay in goal claiming to have been impeded. Barclay in goal was then injured when Cairneyhill scored again, with the Spurs players complaining to the ref that their keeper was fouled. Rutherford protested a little too much & was shown a straight red card for foul & abusive language. In the last few minutes Cairneyhill added a fifth goal when their centre-back was allowed to run the lenth of the field unchallenged to score from inside the box.
