Spurs first competitive game after their long break ended in defeat to a sharper looking Aberdour side. Spurs new home pitch at the Waid looked in fine condition, but the home team looked distinctively rusty as Aberdour dominated the first 25 minute period, and had several good chances to score, with spurs restricted to several long range efforts. Spurs made one change for the second period with Wood replacing the injured Guthrie. Spurs came more into the game and took the lead through Wood who did well to shake off his marker in the box and rifle a shot into the corner of the net. Aberdour drew level through a penalty, then took the lead only 5 minutes later when they scored after a corner. The last period saw Aberdour score a further 3 goals to run out comfortable winners.
